Lunair Naeryns - Quintessence by Arwym Lunair Naeryns - Quintessence by Arwym
'Beyond the land and the mist...'

This is fanart of my favorite character in the Quintessence: The Blighted Venom story. Q:TBV is an interactive novel with RPG gameplay. That's how I prefer to call it, as it is more focused on storytelling than gameplay.
I painted it in Paint Tool SAI, and this is my first time trying to paint like that. I had problems with the background because I am not experienced with backgrounds... less with landscapes. Well, but at least I am worse at drawing buildings and furniture. >.>

Lunair Naeryns is an original character by Kan Gao (Reives).
Quintessence is an amateur's work, but there's a lot of love, hard work, time and dedication put into it. You can visit the game's official website at [link] and even download it! (Be aware that it's a work in progress, and there will be bugs, typos, and other errors, which will eventually be fixed.)

The soft background of the mountains fit well along with the soft drawing of Lunair. How did you do it?

Thank you. :) I think part of the softness effect is due to not drawing any dark outlines. So the colors kinda blend together. Plus, I tried to paint a sort of fog effect on top of everything else.

*loves on it*

to get better at drawing landscapes and buildings and furniture, sit and stare at the furniture (no, seriously, it works), and practice drawing trees and leaves in a near-by park or just the tree in your backyard, just somewhere outdoors.

...
gawd, i hope that made sense

It did, thank you!

You're right. I've been thinking about making an album with a collection of photos I take of objects, poses, places, etc.. For reference, that is. Other stock photo websites are good references, I think... When I can't go out, I think that's what I should do.
